Description
Experience history up close with our captivating private tour of Diocletian's Palace in Split UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979. This tour is short and compact and promises an exciting experience for all ages. Our journey begins at the picturesque Riva and takes you through the fascinating basement levels of the palace. From there, we discover the most important sights of the palace and learn how the palace of Emperor Diocletian was transformed into a flourishing city.
One of the highlights is the exploration of the Peristyle, an ancient square surrounded by Egyptian columns. The Peristyle was once the center of the palace and still houses a sphinx that bears witness to the greatness of the Roman Empire under Emperor Diocletian.
Also part of the palace are the cathedral, which once served as Diocletian's mausoleum, and the Temple of Jupiter, which is now a baptistery. A particular highlight of the tour is a visit to the breathtaking Vestibule, which was once the entrance hall to Diocletian's private chambers. Today, due to its acoustics, choirs perform traditional Dalmatian klapa music here.
Throughout the tour, our guide will entertain you with captivating anecdotes that bring the past to life. He will bring you closer to history in an entertaining way and in a relaxed atmosphere.
